About the Coaches
Ms. Ramos

Ms. Ramos brings over 21 years of experience with Houston ISD, including 12 years proudly serving the Cornelius Elementary community. She spent six years in the classroom as a teacher before transitioning into leadership, where she has supported students and staff for the past seven years.
As Assistant Principal and 2nd–5th Grade Math Coach, Ms. Ramos is committed to strengthening instruction, supporting student achievement, and building teacher capacity across grade levels. She also serves as the campus Testing Coordinator and Behavior Coordinator, ensuring strong systems and supports are in place for student success.
Ms. Ramos earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston–Downtown and her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas Permian Basin.
Outside of school, she is a proud mother of three—two daughters and one son. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and capturing special moments through photography, a hobby that allows her to appreciate the beauty in everyday life.
Ms. Castillo

Ms. Castillo is excited to begin her first year as Assistant Principal at Cornelius Elementary. She has proudly served the Cornelius community for the past six years, teaching 2nd and 3rd grade math as well as kindergarten. Her diverse classroom experience across primary and intermediate grades allows her to bring a well-rounded instructional perspective to her leadership role.
As Assistant Principal and PK–1st Grade Instructional Coach, Ms. Castillo is dedicated to strengthening early childhood instruction and building strong academic foundations for our youngest learners. She also serves as the campus LPAC Coordinator and Safety Captain, supporting multilingual learners and ensuring a safe, supportive school environment for all students.
Ms. Castillo earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston in 2018 and will complete her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston–Downtown next May. She is proud to be a first-generation college graduate.
Outside of school, she enjoys cooking new recipes and exploring new places through travel.
Ms. Jaime

Ms. Jaime is a proud product of Houston ISD, having attended Helms Elementary, Hamilton Middle School, and the High School for Law and Justice. With six years of experience in education, she has dedicated her entire teaching career to 5th-grade science, building strong content knowledge and a passion for hands-on, inquiry-based learning.
A special part of her journey includes completing her student teaching at Cornelius Elementary—making her return to campus a full-circle moment. Today, she serves as Assistant Principal and 2nd–5th Grade Science and RLA Coach, where she supports instructional excellence and student achievement across upper elementary grade levels. She also serves as the campus Magnet Coordinator, helping lead and grow our innovative magnet programming.
Ms. Jaime earned both her Bachelor of Science in Teaching & Learning and her Master of Education in Administration & Supervision from the University of Houston—Go Coogs!
In her free time, she enjoys reading, caring for her plants, and exploring new coffee shops and restaurants around the city with family and friends.
Ms. Tran

Ms. Tran is excited to begin her first year as the School Counselor at Cornelius Elementary. With eight years of experience in education, she is passionate about supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of every student.
She is certified in EC–6 and ESL and holds a Master’s degree in Counseling. In addition to serving as the campus counselor, Ms. Tran also serves as the Gifted and Talented (GT) Coordinator, supporting advanced learners and ensuring they are challenged and nurtured to reach their full potential.
As an only child, Ms. Tran deeply values strong relationships and understands the importance of connection and trust within a school community. She believes every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported. Her favorite color is pink, and she loves bringing warmth and positivity into every space she enters.
Ms. Tran truly believes that “You, the children, are the future,” and she is honored to walk alongside her students as they learn, grow, and thrive.
